Leaving Vogue in June as a result of restructuring at the Conde Nast owned company, Zara Rahim will now oversee communications for the network of women’s work and social spaces, The Wing, founded in New York, in 2016.
“I’m so thrilled to join The Wing as they continue creating professional and inclusive community spaces for women across the country, and soon the world. In a time when it’s more important than ever, I was drawn to The Wing’s mission of creating new opportunities, ideas and conversations that will lead to greater mobility and prosperity for women – I’m looking forward to helping them tell their story,” said Zara in a statement.
The company’s first PR hire, Rahim will focus on The Wing’s expansion, starting with its San Francisco opening in early October and its Los Angeles opening in January 2019. She will also be working on the brand’s civic and community engagement.
Aside her recently Communication resigned duties at Vogue, Zara has also served as National spokeswoman for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, Uber and worked for President Barack Obama in both the White House and on his re-election campaign.
The Wing is a co-working space collective and club, with offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York City, founded by Audrey Gelman and Lauren Kassan in 2016. In just a year after its establishment, the club had acquired over 1,500 members paying up to $3,000 annually to access the premises.
