The corset Vivienne Westwood commissioned in her 1987 Harris Tweed collection is making a return for the new decade coming.
The British fashion designer who first made corsets a thing by incorporating them into her punk aesthetic in the 1970s is bringing them back in three different shades namely; ivory, red and black. The classic corset will be priced at £1,045 for a limited issue, which will only be available in stores in New York, London, Paris, Milan and Los Angeles.
The 78-year-old designer became a public phenomenon when she started making clothes for Malcolm McLaren’s boutique in the King’s Road, which later became known as ‘SEX’. Westwood has since then become the go-to designer much associated with the corset after utilizing it in her fetish-wear at Sex despite the entry of newly minted designers who have experimented with it in their collections.
