News and feedback after the popular lingerie show that raided the fashion community a week ago has not been good for the Victoria Secret’s brand. With plus size bra lovers, models, transgenders and the like making a choice to boycott the buying of the lingerie product, however, the newest boycott of the brand is none other than the CEO herself, Jan Singer, who according to reports has handed out her resignation for a bow out.
News about the cause of resignation is not known yet, but observed analysis proves her bow out follows the backlash CMO of L Brands, Victoria Secret’s parent company, Ed Razek, received from both industry players and the general public after making the assertion that the lingerie giant has ‘no interest’ in featuring plus size models or trans models on its runway.
Singer calling it quits with Victoria Secret also doubles as the second resignation for the brand losing some of its top officials. Earlier reports indicate that, the brand’s marketing manager Jann Parish, who was employed by Singer when she assumed office two years ago, also left the company prior to the 2018 fashion show, in less than a year with Victoria.
Before becoming the Victoria Secret’s CEO two years ago, Singer served as CEO to Spanx for two years and prior to that had spent more than a decade of her career as an executive to fashion house Nike.
Details about her resignation is expected to be disclosed and clarified on Monday, November 19, when L Brands will report their quarterly earnings.
