With a clientele sheet registered with high profile names such as the Second lady of Ghana, Samira Bawumia, it is only right that the A-listers’ go-to makeup artist Valerie Lawson has been offered a new role at Maybelline Ghana as artistic director of the brand.
Already a professional when it comes to experimenting with makeup products to give the look of the day to her muses, Valerie will now coordinate all visual representation of makeup products produced under Maybelline for editorial shoots, commercials through to creating brand contents that promote the effectiveness and ways of using the products.
Regarding the new fete as an honor and humbling, Valerie shared in an Instagram saying, “I am so so honored and humbled to announce my new role as Artistic Director for @maybelline @makeupinthecities_africa. I don’t take my journey for granted at all and I am ready for this new task. Pray for and with me and let’s make this another fun & more memorable one. Let’s create.”
In recent times that Ghanaian weddings have duly noted the big role makeup play in the making of a bride, Valerie’s brush touch has been the magic behind several celebrity weddings rated as one of the best. Last year, wife of popular Ghanaian actor turned politician John Dumelo was face beat for her wedding by Valerie, who had previously done same for Tracy Owusu Addo during her nuptials with VGMA artist of the decade Sarkodie.
Thanks to her remarkable works in the beauty industry fetching her this role, Valerie becomes the first Ghanaian ever to occupy the artistic director’s seat in Ghana for Maybelline New York.
