Academy Award-winning actor Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson have tested positive to coronavirus.
Hanks, who is currently in Australia for the preproduction shoot of the untitled Elvis Presley’s true-life adaptation story announced the news via his Instagram handle saying, “Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.”
“Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?” the actor added.
Hanks and Wilson’s contact with the virus follows that of an unnamed crew member from the Warner Bros. set who tested positive and leading to a break in production. The crew member is currently undergoing treatment.
During the Women’s Cancer Research Fund event ‘An Unforgettable Evening’ at the at the Beverly Wilshire last month, Wilson took precaution measures whiles walking the red carpet by keeping a healthy distance from other guests and also avoided air kisses as well kept her arms crossed over her chest while speaking to reporters.
The virus has reportedly affected the speed of events ranging from the walls of fashion shows, entertainment, sports and the workplace. It currently stands record that over 10,000 people have affected by the virus, whiles 4,600 people have died of it worldwide.
