For the big day of their highly anticipated wedding, the Jonas (Priyanka and Nick) clothed themselves in custom-made Ralph Lauren dress and tuxedo together with their bridesmaids and groomsmen for the Christian order of service.
Priyanka, wore a Ralph Lauren hand-beaded and embroidered gown, taking over 3,720 hours to complete, which featured floral and scroll motifs and lace-effect tulle appliques with scalloped sleeves and a high-neck collar. The gown also had on it a mother of pearl pailettes, crystal seed beads and Swarovski crystals. Underneath the long sleeve gown also had a strapless column dress made up of over two million mother of pearl sequins, all complemented with a 75 feet long tulle veil, which called for five hands to help carry it whiles walking down the aisle.
Nick also wore for the occasion a custom Ralph Lauren six-button double breasted tuxedo and custom patent lace up dress shoes. His tuxedo had in it a small piece of lace from Priyanka’s gown embroidered with the Urdu words “My Jaan’ meaning “My Life.”
The Hindu ceremony of their wedding also had Chopra wear a red lehenga long skirt and crop top by Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherji. The dress was coordinated with traditional gold jewelry and a flower garland. Her necklace was from the Haute Joailerie Collection and featured 184.50 carats of pear-shaped diamonds set in 18k ethical gold.
“For the Indian wedding, I wore Sabyasachi. I always wanted a red traditional silhouette for my wedding but Sabya brought in incredible French embroidery to the mix and with incredible jewelry and western inspired veil. It was just such amalgamation of who I am!” Jonas on the other hand went for a creamish Indian groom ensemble matched with a traditional Hindu headgear for a wedding.
