Ten-time Grammy winner, Taylor Swift will be the first of many celebrity recipients to be honoured at Teen Choice Awards with an Icon Award.
Swift’s honourary plaque is given her in recognition of her success as a pop culture icon, an artist to have sold 50 million albums worldwide, selling out stadiums globally and creating chart-topping hits. Aside her music success, Taylor has served as an advocate for the LGBTQ community, calling on Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee to increase protection of LGBTQ members and also support the Equality Act.
In addition to her honorary award, Taylor is also nominated in 7 different categories including nods for Choice Female Artist and Choice Fandom for her Swifties.
On the night of the Teen awards slated on August 11, music stars such as Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish and BLACKPINK will be in attendance as nominees for the music category, while the Jonas Brothers will grace the occasion as Decade Award honorary recipients.
Produced by Bob Bain Productions and Fox Alternative, the 2019 Teen Choice Awards will air live FOX at 8.p.m.ET.
