For Taylor Swift’s ninth studio album release ‘Lover’, the singer is teaming up with fashion’s power name Stella McCartney for a lover merch collection.
Inspired from graffiti, vintage band tees, old-school Taylor Swift lyrics and the popstar’s cat, Benjamin Button, the collection comes in organic cotton sweatshirts and T-shirts, jackets, bags (which are made of polyester and oils from vegetable waste) and a reusable water bottle.
“When I started spending more time in London, Stella and I would go on walks, have cocktails and talk about life. So, when it came time to write this album, I name checked her one of my songs and when I played her the album, I said, ‘Should we do something?’ spoke Swift about the source of the collabo.
Surprisingly, McCartney whose name mention in every corner of fashion easily gets a standing ovation was shocked herself when her name popped up in Swift’s lyrics, “I couldn’t believe that my name is in a Taylor Swift song (what?). After Taylor played me the album it gave me such incredible inspiration for the collaboration and it really revolved around the music. What I love is how we really complement each other in what we generate creatively together.”
Prices for the entire outfits in the collection are unknown, except for the luxury bomber jacket and handbag which the designer’s office detail to cost $1,995 and $795 respectively. Items from the lover merch including the reusable water bottle will be available to order on Stellamccartney.com, starting August 22, and will be available for direct purchase in Standalone London and New York stores on August 23.
