Empire actress Taraji P. Henson, will be honored with a star, under her name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, come January 28.
Excited about the news, Taraji posted on Instagram saying, “This is for those lovely scary nay sayers who doubted me!!!! Welp I had a dream aaaaaannnnnnnd thank GOD I used all of your doubt to propel me to my greatness!!!! I love you and I needed you!!!! #GodIS and that is ALL I KNOW.”
Taraji has starred in over 20 films, since her breakthrough in 2001 with the movie Baby Boy. Two decades in the industry now and still growing strong, Taraji doubles as a Golden Globes and SAG award winner alongside an Academy award nomination. Her character ‘Cookie’ in the award-winning series ‘Empire’ placed her in the fame of crazy but fun characters to watch on screens drawing an extension of her popularity outside Hollywood circles.
Speaking about Taraji and her upcoming star, producer of the Walk of Fame Ana Martinez said, “Taraji P. Henson is a powerful woman and a powerful actress. She is an entertainer that fans cannot take their eyes off of due to her great acting ability. We welcome her bright star on our Walk of Fame.”
Taraji will be joined by her Baby Boy director, John Singleton and the lady she refers to as ‘soul sister’ Mary J Blige, to unveil her star. The actress is next seen in the movie ‘What Men Want’ a remake of Mel Gibson’s ‘What Women want’. The film hits cinemas February 9.
