‘Thor 4’ is coming and it has Taika Waititi as director and writer of the Marvel Studios-owned Franchise.
The director boarded the ‘Thor’ train during its third part filming in 2017. His supervision as director in the third chapter fetched Marvel a sum of $854 million worldwide, which was a huge rejuvenation for the company after experiencing a decline in patronage of the film in the first 2 ‘Thor’ productions.
Details about production start date and release are kept under wraps with the exception of lead actor Chris Hemsworth returning as Asgardian god of thunder.
Before signing the ‘Thor 4′ contract, Waititi was inked to direct Warner Bros.’ long-gestating adaptation of Japanese magna ‘Akira’. The film which was scheduled for a May 21 release has however been put on hold indefinitely by Warner Bros. following production clashes with the two projects. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that, the studio is bent on keeping Waititi involved for the long term and hopes to see him pick up ‘Akira’ after ‘Thor 4’.
Waititi’s directing powers is next seen in ‘Jojo Rabbit’ set for cinemas on October 18 and stars Scarlett Johansson. He is repped by CAA and Manage-ment.
