After grossing over 10 million views on YouTube for his Epistles of Mama album, Stonebwoy, the copyright owner of the playlists on the album has been honored by YouTube with a plaque and a letter from the video sharing platform after it was rated as one of the most popular albums in the world following its release in December last year.
The EOM album according to the award-winning dancehall artiste is dedicated to his late mother, Catherine Satekla, who passed on in 2015. Speaking about the inspiration behind the album with Red Bull, Stonebwoy disclosed, “It is inspired by the good morals, the teachings, the lessons, the anguish and the smiles of life. All the important things in life which are passed on to us by our mothers”.
The album was ranked the second-best album in the world by Reggaeville and was in the league of ‘Album of the year’ competitors at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Singles released by Stonebwoy from the album continues to enjoy massive airplay on radio stations and TVs as well.
Notable songs on the album include, Mane Me, Dede, Pepper Dem, Bawaasaba, Tia Tia and many others. Stonebwoy is up for multiple nominations at the upcoming AFRIMMA awards slated to take place this weekend in Ghana.
