Spotify has issued a notice instructing all employees to work from home amidst Coronavirus outbreak.
“I have asked Spotify employees to work from home for the next two weeks due to the increased risk of COVID-19. We all have an obligation to delay the spread of the virus and thus the expected pressure on our healthcare system. I hope other companies in Sweden will follow suit,” Spotify’s CEO Daniel Ek shared on Twitter yesterday.
The tech company now joins the slate of organizations that have introduced the work-from-home policy in their sector to help curb the virus spread. Sony Pictures Entertainment is currently closed in their European offices in London, Paris and Poland. Twitter also shut down its offices in Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan, having their staff work from home.
The likes of Amazon, Facebook, Google and Microsoft have also instructed their employees in Seattle to work from home, while Imax has limited the rate business travels for its employees worldwide.
The virus since its inception earlier this year has recorded 3,300 deaths globally out of the 90,000 people affected by it.
