Samuel L. Jackson will be joining Chris Rock in Lionsgate’s upcoming reboot of the mystery/crime movie ‘Saw’.
Jackson, who recently starred in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ alongside Tom Holland will play father to a police detective investigating a series of grizzly crimes, played by Chris Rock. Filming has already begun for the pic and it also stars Max Minghella and ‘Riverdale’ actress Marisol Nichols.
“We think Samuel L. Jackson and Chris Rock along with Minghella and Marisol Nicholas make this film completely special in the ‘Saw’ canon and we can’t wait to unleash this unexpected and sinister new story on fans of this franchise. This is next level of ‘Saw’ on full tilt,” said Joe Drake chairman of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group.
Details about the plot of the reboot is kept low-key by Lionsgate except for clues that the new feature will offer deviously, treacherous traps, clever clues and the edge-of-the-seat suspense for fans set on trooping to cinemas to watch.
Filmmakers Mark Burg and Oren Koules are teaming together to produce; whiles Darren Lynn Bousman, who directed the second, third and fourth ‘Saw’ movies is returning to direct.
October 23, 2020 has been chosen as release date for the film.
