American pop star singer Rihanna, with the full name Robyn Rihanna Fenty, has reportedly sued her birth father Ronald Fenty, for using her last name otherwise.
Ronald, per the lawsuit decree is accused of using his firm named ‘Fenty Entertainment’ to exploit people under the pretense that Rihanna’s Fenty brand is affiliated to it and to have negotiated tour deals worth more than $15m on behalf of Rihanna without her knowledge. The popularity of Rihannna’s Fenty brand is therefore under threat for reasons of one day misleading the many fans that follow her into something else all in the name of Fenty, which may cause a bad reputation for the pop star.
The lawsuit decree reads, “Defendants continue to this date to use their misrepresentations for their commercial advantage and to mislead the public. This fraudulent conduct harms not only plaintiffs but the public at large and requires judicial intervention. Although Mr. Fenty is Rihanna’s father, he does not presently, nor has he ever, had the authority to act on Rihanna’s behalf or had the right to use her Fenty mark, to exploit the goodwill of her Fenty brands or to solicit business on her behalf.”
Rihanna, launched her Fenty brand in 2017 comprising the Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty lingerie, which was launched in April 2018. Her Savage x Fenty lingerie has received massive welcome by the public, thanks to its tolerance of all body sizes. The pop star, who has been off the music ladder for more than a year has hinted according to reports, to release an album this year.
