R&B singer R Kelly, is behind bars in police custody in Chicago. The Grammy winner is charged with 13 federal sex crimes, making it the second time this year he has been arrested. His first 2019 arrest was in February.
Confirming the news about his arrest to ‘The Associated Press’ US attorney spokesman Joseph Fitzpatrick, disclosed more charges on the 52-year-old singer’s arrest, “The counts include child porn, enticement of a minor and obstruction of justice.” Further details on his arrest will be released later today.
Kelly already faces state sex-related charges in Illinois on 10 counts involving four women, three of whom were minors when the alleged abuse occurred, but has however pleaded not guilty of the charge. On May 30, 11 more sex-related charges were added to his case file by the Cook Country prosecutor’s office involving one of the women who accused him of sexually abusing her when she was underage.
In reaction to the numerous sexual accusations leveled against Kelly, a handful of his colleague artistes including Lady Gaga, pulled their collaborated songs with the singer from streaming platforms in solidarity with the women victims. HBO, also produced a three-nights documentary series ‘Surviving R. Kelly’ hammering more details from the part of victims who suffered in the hands of the tagged sexual abuser, Kelly.
