Her reign as the longest reigning monarch of all time may not have come to an end yet, but the era of her 30 corgis have become a closed book.
According to reports, Whisper the 12-year-old corgi of the Queen and the last of the 30 of them all, passed on last week bringing an end to the era of the Windsor corgis raised by the Queen. Although an adopted one in 2016, the Queen nevertheless showered Whisper with the exact attention and care as she showed the other 28 descended from her first corgi, Susan.
It was reported in April this year, that the last but one of her corgis, Willow died, which resulted to the Queen’s decision not to breed any more corgis because she was unsure who would look after them when she was gone – meaning the death of Whisper is the end of her 74 years of breeding corgis.
The monarch is now left in the company of her two dorgis namely Candy and Vulcan, a cross between a corgi and dachshund.
