Priyanka Chopra Jonas is in early talks to star in the fourth film of the ‘Matrix’ franchise.
To be directed by series co-creator Lana Watchowski, Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow are in negotiations with Chopra to star alongside previously announced cast members, Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Neil Patrick Harris. No details have been shared so far about the character she will play.
In its fourth development on screen, the ‘Matrix’ franchise started in 1999 with a story line that tells how a human resistance fighting against machines that had subdued humanity by keeping them inside a digital world. It followed up with two sequels in 2003 namely; ‘The Matrix Reloaded’ and ‘The Matrix Revolutions’.
Chopra, who doubles as a global star and former beauty queen will next be seen in upcoming Netflix originals ‘The White Tiger’ and ‘We can Be Heroes’. She is also developing an Indian wedding comedy series for Universal Studios, where she will star in and produce alongside Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor.
She is repped by UTA, and owns a production company, Purple Pebble Pictures.
