Just like her colleague Hollywood stars, Phoebe Waller-Bridge has come to the aid of Australia by placing her Ralph & Russo Golden Globe tuxedo on auction to generate funds that will help solve the continuing bushfires raging heavily in the country.
“I’m very excited that this stunning, one-of-a-kind couture tuxedo created by Australian geniuses Ralph & Russo will continue its journey by contributing to this urgent cause. If money raised by its auction can help raise funds to fight the disaster in Australia, the future impact of this suit will be far greater than the luck it brought me and the ‘Fleabags’ team at the Golden Globe last weekend. To add to its allure, I spent most of the night brushing it past and rubbing it up against all the sparkly people I could find. These threads are laced with legends,” Phoebe disclosed.
The black and gold Chantilly tuxedo is up on Ebay and is open to all international bidders with an Ebay account from Australia, Asia, Canada, Europe and the U.K., New Zealand and the United States. The bid starts from $54,000, in U.S. dollars, and all bidders must first register at bidforgood.com, the Hollywood Reporter confirms. Accompanying the tuxedo as a full package to the highest bidder is an additional fabric to serve as a rescue if need be for alterations.
So far, Phoebe has selected three charitable organizations to benefit from the funds that will be generated namely; Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief & Recovery Fund, WIRES Wildlife Rescue Emergency Fund and Wildfire Victoria.
Ralph & Russo designers, Tamara and Michael added in statement, “We continue to keep our beautiful home country in our thoughts and hope that alongside our own contribution, the donations and support being rallied worldwide will improve the situation significantly, and soon.”
