In celebration of the Women in the World Summit’s 10th anniversary, the live media event will be led by American philanthropist/global media leader Oprah Winfrey.
Due to take place from April 10 to 12 at New York’s Lincoln Center, Oprah is tasked to deliver the Summit’s keynote address and also spearhead in answering the events guiding question ‘Can women save the world?’ The Summit is keen on presenting an array of women making great impact in the world from the big screen stars in film and fashion to the behind-the-screen women in corporate development. The lineup this year has on its sheet names of prominent figures such as; Brie Larson, Anna Wintour, Tina Brown, Adwoa Boah, Ashley Judd, Bianna Vitalievna Golodryga and more.
Topics slated for discussion include moving the #MeToo movement forward, fighting misinformation, keeping journalism alive, combating threats to the planet, advocating for same-sex love, resisting authoritarian and patriarchal powers and advancing women leaders.
Debuting a comedy segment of discussion this year, the Summit will host for the first time a panel on comedy in today’s cultural climate, which will have on its seat Wanda Sykes, Rachel Bloom, Phoebe Robinson, Judy Gold and Amber Ruffin.
Highlighting on the Summit’s milestone achievement, Tina Brown, former Vanity Fair editor/founder of Women in the World, chimed in a statement, “This year’s Summit is such a milestone event with our 10th anniversary; it is clearer than ever that the mission has met its moment. The seeds we’ve planted as far back as 2010 in a small midtown theater have exploded into a global community of women of power and purpose.”
