Once Upon a Time in Cannes!
The 1969 set ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ by Quentin Tarantino, has arrived at the prestigious Cannes film festival. Just as millions of film enthusiasts anticipated for a top-notch screen feature, it surely delivered as anticipated. The film, which stars Academy award winner, Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt alongside Margot Robbie, premiered at the film festival yesterday, drawing a six-minute standing ovation backed by applause after its screening.
Taking the director’s bow to audience, Tarantino told the cheering crowd, “To my wonderful actors, producers and the studio that helped me make this movie. Thank you for being such a fantastic audience, for the first time we ever showed it an audience. See you on the Croisette!”
The film marks the ninth production from the camp of Tarantino and third feature film with DiCaprio and Brad, who starred along each other in ‘Django Unchained and ‘Inglorious Bastards’ all produced and directed by Tarantino. Margot Robbie on the other hand makes her Cannes debut starring in the Tarantino directed film. Other cast members of the film include, Dakota Fanning, Al Pacino, Lena Dunham, Bruce Dern, Luke Perry, Kurt Russell and more.
Described by critics as ‘shocking!’ and ‘brilliant!’, ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ is up for the Palme d’Or award in the competition line-up. Tarantino won the Palme d’Or award 25 years back with ‘Pulp Fiction’ and per the laudable reviews coming in favor of his new pic raises the chances of him securing the festival’s top prize.
