Congratulations are in order to our Ghanaian personalities who have made it on the 2018 list of 100 Most Influential Young Africans.
The list embodies notable names from Ghana such as, Nana Aba Anamoah, Hamamat Montia, Nana Appiah Mensah, Stonebwoy as well as our 2018 Style Influencer of the year, Bonang Matheba from South Africa and Nigeria’s Toke Makinwa, who also won the Style Influencer award last year.
Nana Aba Anamoah is well known for using her voice in the past year to end the abuse of popular drug, tramadol, by the youth, which is causing them more harm than good. The former beauty queen, Hamamat Motia is also known for her numerous campaign to aid the use of local skin care products such as shea butter to enrich the African complexion.
Nana Appiah Mensah, CEO of power media House, Zylofon also forms part of the Ghanaian honorees for his immense contribution to the creative arts industry at large, since his inception into the lime light. The award-winning dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy who has managed to take Ghanaian music through the length and breadth of almost every country in the world also made it on the list for his admirable zeal when it comes to the music industry.
The annual prestigious list features young politicians, activists, entrepreneurs, entertainers, digital influencers, philanthropists & athletes across 10 distinct categories who are blazing various trails and promoting the positive image of Africa across the globe.
Prince Akpah who is the founding president of Africa Youth Awards, curators of the 100 Most Influential Young Africans list disclosed that the current list features a record 90 new entrants and 43 females.
According to him, this year’s honorees were listed for their individual and collective contributions towards positioning the image of Africa as front runners in their respective fields. He also urged other young Africans to emulate the footstep of the listed individuals and join them to make Africa a better and safer place for young dreamers.
