‘The Chi’ former star actor Jason Mitchell, has being stripped of his MTV Movie & TV Awards nomination for best performance in a show category.
Mitchell was dropped on account of misconduct on the set of ‘The Chi’ and Netflix’s ‘Desparados’. Multiple sources from the production of ‘The Chi’ confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that, female actresses felt uncomfortable working alongside the actor. Tiffany Boone, who plays Mitchell’s girlfriend on the show, felt so ill at ease that she asked producers to be released from the series, while he stayed on.
Aside the firing from ‘The Chi’ and ‘Desparados’ sets, Mitchell’s manager and agent dropped him off his client sheet following Netflix action. With close consideration of the recent misconduct allegations, an MTV spokesperson announced, “In light of recent developments, we have removed Jason Mitchell as a nominee.”
Mitchell was initially slotted in the category of best performance in a show, with ‘Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke, ‘Jane the Virgin’s’ Gina Rodriguez and ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s’ Klernnan Shipka.
The 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards, airs on June 17, from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
