Meghan Markle is set to have her Vogue feature debut in the September issue of the magazine, Daily Mail confirms.
Unlike fellow royal princesses late Princess Diana, Anne and Kate Middleton, who have appeared as cover girls for the magazine in past times, the Duchess will feature as a contributing editor with a created column, which will be used to touch on stories dear to her heart. Neither herself nor baby Archie will grant photos for the pages, since its solely going to be about issues she wants to address such as female empowerment and education.” The spread in Vogue won’t be a superficial photoshoot. On the contrary, she wants to use it as a platform to make a difference,” disclosed Daily Mail.
Daily Mail also reports that, the column could become a regular space in the monthly publication of the magazine, “She is working with Vogue as a contributing editor on a few fabulous stories about the causes that are near and dear to her and it may eventually become a regular column.”
Meghan’s column will run in the pages of the UK edition of the magazine, but might see new developments in subsequent publications as Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, of the US magazine franchise is in talks to feature the hand written stories of the Duchess in US Vogue, “Anna Wintour is also part of the talks and is in discussion about running some or all of the stories in US Vogue.”
Photographer Annie Leibovitz will shoot the initial article and outfits will be provided by emerging designers whose backstories link to causes close to the Duchess’ heart.
