The internet’s most awaited meeting between the Duchess of Sussex and pop star icons Jay-Z and Beyoncé, finally saw the light of day at ‘The Lion King’ premiere in the UK.
Conversations on what will transpire between Meghan, Beyoncé and Jay-Z when they meet started after the couple received their 2019 Brit best international group award in a recorded video where they both stood in front of a Monalisa replaced photo starring Meghan. The couple shared via Instagram, “In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas.”
Honoring the invitation, Meghan walked the yellow carpet by the side of her husband Prince Harry, wearing a midi black satin fit and flare dress with sheer neck and sleeves designed by Jason Wu. Beyoncé, who delivered an unprecedented fashion ensemble at the US premiere delivered yet another red carpet statement wearing a thigh high slit gold lame Cong Tri gown. Her look has everyone talking, including us.
Ahead of ‘The Lion King’ theater release on July 19, Disney has launched a global campaign called Protect the Pride, aimed at safeguarding the decreasing lion population. Studies have proven that half of Africa’s lion population have gone missing since the original release 25 years ago. Disney disclosed, “Since ‘The Lion King’ was first released in theaters 25 years ago, half of Africa’s lions have disappeared. Lions face rising threats, such as poaching, loss of prey and destruction of habitats. However, research shows the lion population can recover.”
In attendance also at the premiere were, Sir Elton John, Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanh.
