In this day and age, you can be whatever you want to be and more and that includes becoming a pharmacist and a fashion influencer. Opportunities are limitless and the sky is definitely big enough for all of us to fly, flourish and achieve our dreams and aspirations. This article is about a young Nigerian fashionista, Chukwunonso Ezekwueche, simply referred to as Nonso making his mark in the fashion industry while also been a pharmacist. That sounds interesting, doesn’t it?
EARLY LIFE
Nonso was born as the last child of a middle-class Nigerian family. His parents had just moved back to their state of origin, Anambra after they had sojourned in Minna, Niger state, Nigeria for years. His mother is a retired banker and his late father was a businessman. Nonso had both primary and secondary education in Anambra state, Nigeria and then went ahead to obtain a degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Benin, Edo state, Nigeria.
Nonso developed a passion early for fashion by learning and imitation and this has spiralled into the feat he has achieved today in the fashion industry.
In 2017, he relocated to Toronto, Canada where he now lives and works permanently blazing trails along the way.
CAREER
His major social media platform is Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/_nonsky) where he boasts of about 75,000 followers. He is of the school of thought that one does not necessarily need to splurge on expensive designer labels to look fabulous or make a fashion statement, hence his motto “Showing men how to dress without breaking the bank.”
He has worked with a handful of men’s fashion and lifestyle brands in Canada, the United States of America and beyond to help them reach fresh targets and enter new markets. This he does by creating excellent content in form of pictures and videos for these brands that his audience would connect with and enjoy. A quick look at his Instagram page showed us that he is out for some serious business with his unique style, composition and so on. He is currently a brand ambassador for Fashionnova and Original Penguin.
He attributes his success to God, a creative mind, enabling environment and the right tools for content creation. Nonso strives to achieve excellence by putting his best foot forward first in executing any projects.
Nonso has had the opportunity to be invited to and be a part of Toronto Fashion Week, African Fashion Week Toronto, International Fashion Encounter Toronto, Fashion Forward, When Fashion Meets and a bunch of food and wine tasting events.
He has been featured in notable Nigerian newspapers and other online news platforms such as Vanguard, The Nation, Sun news online, Legit, PM news etc. He is a currently fashion contributor for www.pulse.ng where he educates men on how to dress and he has attained significance as an authority in fashion.
