Unarguably the queen of the festive season, Mariah Carey has received three honor certificates from the Guinness World Records Organization, largely due to her 1994 Christmas hit single ‘All I Want For Christmas is You’.
Mariah now holds on record with the song as the highest-charting holiday (Christmas/New Year) song on the Hot 100 by a solo artist, most streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours with over 10.8 million streams last December and most weeks in the U.K. singles Top 10 chart for a Christmas song. The merits will be inked in the Guinness World Records 2020 Edition book.
Carey celebrated the news via Instagram where she captioned, “Thank you so much Guinness World Records for honoring me with three records in the 2020 book! Michael from [Guinness World Records] presented me with a certificate on stage, so naturally, I asked him to join us for the #AllIWantForChristmasIsYouFinale!”
With the 2019 festive season already in motion, Mariah has begun her ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ tour in Las Vegas at The Colosseum, where the honor was awarded her. The tour will run through Las Vegas till 30 November before moving to the East Coast for shows in Atlantic City, Washington D.C., Boston, New York and more.
