Margharita Missoni has been appointed the new Creative Director of fashion house M Missoni. This is said to be the first sign of change after the family-owned fashion brand Missoni sold a minority stake to a government-backed private equity fund.
Dropping her pencil from the family business in 2015 to launch her own Children’s line, Margharita is excited for her come back to what we may call ‘Home’. She said, “Being identified as the person who can lead the future course of the new M MIssoni fills me with pride. It’s exciting to have the opportunity to set new paradigms and forge new directions for this brand, all whilst using the Missoni aesthetic which lives within me.”
President and Creative Director of the Missoni label, Angela Missoni lauded the considerable skills of her daughter now turned Creative Director of the company. “I am confident that Margherita’s talent will make M Missoni a relevant brand for the years to come,” she disclosed.
As Creative Director for the brand, Margherita will oversee the repositioning and expanding the 1998-founded brand. Her first collection as Creative Director will be the spring/summer 2020.
