Fashion house department store Liberty London has launched the Liberty Discovers, aimed at mentoring, encouraging and showcasing emerging British creatives.
The new initiative will have on board fashion designers namely – Matty Bovan, Duran and Daniel Tanner to help launch the program during the autumn/winter 2019 shows knowing the benefits each designer has gained from Liberty London. Speaking about his just announced collaboration with Liberty, Bovan disclosed, “To get to work with such an iconic brand is so exciting. The heritage and history is so inspiring. I really want to inspire people and show Liberty in a fresh way. I’ve always been such a fan. Liberty is such a quintessentially British brand and I love to showcase British craftsmanship and heritage.”
Credited most as fashion exclusives, the new project will not only support fashion but give chance for craftspeople as well. Madeline Macey, communications director and founder of Liberty Discovers told Vogue, “It will support not just fashion but craftspeople across board. Our unique setup allows us to offer insight to our discovery talent depending on the stage of their development from finance to marketing, design, fabric and product and then routes into production and wholesale.”
The program will also give creatives the opportunity to use Liberty London’s in-house products and fabric design studio, while receiving help from the brand’s communications platforms to heighten their exposure. Macey added of the chances available, “There will also be a combination of events, installations and exhibitions with their creations over the year.”
