Predicted or anticipated, Leonardo DiCaprio is teaming up with Guillermo del Toro for a reboot of ‘Nightmare Alley’. The film will mark Guillermo’s follow-up film to the Oscars after 2018, where he won best picture and best director with the epic ‘Shape of Water’ and that of DiCaprio, winning best actor in a lead role 2016 for the movie ‘Revenant’.
‘Nightmare Alley’ will be based on the novel by William Lindsay Greshman, which was adapted in 1947 into a Fox feature that had on its cast list Tyrone Power and Joan Blondel. The film revolves around an ambitious con man who hooks up with a female psychiatrist for a mentalist routine, but eventually she turns the tables on him.
The Oscar winning director, del Toro is producing the adapted feature alongside J. Miles Dale. Scripts will be handwritten by del Toro and Kim Morgan, whiles the former will again finance the project with J. Miles Dale and TSG Entertainment.
While further cast for the film are yet-to-be revealed, production begins this fall. DiCaprio, who is repped by LBI returns to cinemas, July 26, starring alongside Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie in Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’.
