Legendary actor, Mac Jordan Amartey has been confirmed dead. The late actor died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Thursday evening. A family friend confirmed to Myjoyonline.com.
According to sources, the veteran actor had been ill for some time now and was taken to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where he met his unfortunate death. The actor was taken on admission as a result of his inability to eat solid foods.
Kwesi Ansah, who confirmed the death and was also taught by the veteran actor at University Primary School, said the family is saddened by the death of the actor and described him as,
“…somebody who always wanted us to be our best. He pushed us to come out to be our best.” He further added, “He was also a father and if you had any issues at all and you approached Mac Jordan, he speaks to you like his own…even in old age, he still was advising some of us”.
The late Amartey was popularly known on the screens for his big grammar constructions and aggressive, but entertaining personality in roles he played on screen. He starred in over 50 films before his death last night and notable among them is the popular TV series ‘Idikoko’.
Amartey over the years starred alongside other veteran actors in the movie industry such as, Grace Nortey, Grace Amoabeng and more.
