Pop star Lady Gaga, has pledged to fund pending projects of 162 classrooms of communities affected by the mass shooting incident which occurred in the US on July 28 and August 4.
The donation to be made by Gaga under her Born This Way Foundation will benefit fourteen classrooms in Dayton, 125 classrooms in El Paso and 23 classrooms in Gilroy. In a Facebook post, Gaga disclosed her foundation’s partnership with DonorsChoose.org, and how they are working things together to help the affected schools. She wrote, “Today, I find hope in the work of DonorsChoose.org and I’m proud to partner with them and with Born This Way Foundation to fully fund the classroom project needs in Dayton, OH, El Paso, TX, and Gilroy, CA.”
She continued, “14 classrooms in Dayton, 125 classrooms in El Paso, and 23 classrooms in Gilroy will now have access to the support they need to inspire their students to work together and bring their dreams to life.”
Concerned Gaga also fractioned inside her post, the need to prioritize the mental health of people, “If you are struggling, please be brave and tell a trusted someone. Don’t be scared to ask for help, I beg you. If you see a loved one struggling, please be brave and reach out, remind them it’s OK to not be OK and listen to them.”
The recorded mass shooting incident cost the lives of three victims at Gilroy Garlic Festival, 22 at a Walmart store in El Paso and nine were killed in Dayton, with all incidents taking place from 28 July until 4 August this year.
Gaga and her Born This Way Foundation have been vocal in the wellbeing of young people since establishment in 2012. Notable projects embarked on include the 2012 march, which promoted empowerment and anti-bullying among young ones.
