Patrons of the annual Kwahu Easter Festivities will have to reschedule their made plans for next year, as this year’s celebration has officially been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Adhering to the directive from the President, Nananom of the Kwahu Traditional Council have issued a press release stating that the 2020 festivities have been canceled. “The Annual Kwahu Easter and all activities associated with it have been called off.”
Forming part of the release was a statement which read that all appointments and visits to various Palaces in Kwahu be suspended unless they are extremely necessary. Chiefs of the Kwahu community are also restricted in their travels and are only permitted to do so if considered necessary.
The annual gathering has always been home during the Easter break for both natives and outsiders that travel from other parts of the country as well as international visitors. Various cultures are presented through the act of culture display alongside music concerts that bring on board top and trending artists in the country.
