Although the original teen squad for ‘Gossip Girl’ are not returning for the reboot coming up, Kristen Bell has officially been announced to reprise her role as narrator for the reboot. Producers of the developing installment said in a statement, “Kristen Bell has always been and will always be the voice of Gossip Girl.”
Moving from its original home at CW to HBO Max for the sequel, the new ‘Gossip Girl’ will center around social media trying to explore how the platform has changed the landscape and orientation of teenagers in this age.
In the OG part of the show, which aired from September 2007 to December 2012, Bell played the role of a narrator, the omniscient blogger Gossip Girl for all six seasons, made of 121 episodes. The developing sequel has not disclosed any attachment with the original cast members, except for Bell, who will be in the midst of new teenage boys and girls for a total run of 10 episodes.
Former showrunner, Josh Safran is also making a comeback for the reboot.
