Seven years ago, Kim Kardashian West underwent a vampire facial while filming ‘Kourtney and Kim take Miami’, an act she came out last year expressing her regrets in doing it. Now, the famous TV star is in court suing an Alabama doctor, who goes by the name Charles Runels, for using her name, face and an old blood photo of her to attract customers seeking a similar procedure.
Not stopping there, Runels has being using the Kardashian surname on the front of a brochure for the procedure and also on his website. Filed in a California federal court, Kim and her attorney Michael Kump are charging Runels for copyright and trademark infringement, false association and violation of the right of publicity. She is also seeking unspecified statutory and punitive damages, plus disgorgement of profits and an injunction barring Runels from using her face, name or persona in any way, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.
“Runels’ scheme to misappropriate Ms. Kardashian’s hard-earned popularity without her permission is so pervasive that she features prominently in, of all places, his LinkedIn profile, quite literally on his profile page, her photo is twice as large as his,” says Kump.
The complainant also disclosed that late in 2017 was charging more than 650 medical providers nearly $200,000 per month to license his adopted name ‘orgasm doctor’ and ‘Calvin Klein of medicine’.
