Kevin Hart is making space for another comic performance on screen. The award-winning comedian is set to star in the HartBeat Productions and STX Entertainment Superhero comedy ‘Night Wolf’.
Hart will join the cast lineup, whiles producing the comedy feature under his HartBeat Productions banner. The developing film tells the story of a man (Hart) who meets his future father-in-law for the first time only to discover he is secretly the superhero known as the Night Wolf.
‘Night Wolf’ is the third production coming from the camp of both HartBeat and STX, as the two film houses went in a joint agreement earlier this year to produce two comedy projects. The first two announced films include, ‘Black Friday’ and an untitled romantic comedy. In January 2019, Hart’s film ‘Upside Down’ released under STX made waves in cinemas, grossing more than $100 million.
STX films chairman, Adam Fogelson said in statement on Thursday, “After we acquired ‘Night Wolf’, we submitted it to Kevin Hart and the team at HartBeat, hoping they would love it as much as we did. It is a big broad comedy, and the idea is great, fun and perfectly matched with Kevin’s comedic talent.”
Kevin Hart added, “I instantly fell in love with this pitch about an everyday guy who is meeting his in-laws for the first time and unwittingly discovers his father-in-law to-be is secretly a superhero.”
Repped by UTA, 3 Arts and Schreck Rose, Kevin returns to theaters before ‘Night Wolf’ with Sony Pictures ‘Jumanji’ sequel alongside Dwayne Johnson.
