Apple is gathering all the stars to its streaming platform come November 1.
Justin Theroux has officially been announced as the newest Hollywood A-Lister to pick up a developing series at Apple TV Plus. Justin will star in the ‘Mosquito Coast’, which centers around an idealist who uproots his family to Latin America. Cross and Tom Bissel will script the first two episodes, whiles Cross will double as show runner for the series. Rupert Wyatt will executive produce and direct as well.
The series, which is based on the 1981 novel written by Paul Theroux, was originally adapted for film in 1986 and starred Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren and River Phoenix. Award season in the following year crowned its theater authenticity as it received two Golden Globe nominations, including best actor in a drama for Ford.
Apple TV Plus, which is under wraps for a debut launch already counts stars such as Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon on their soon-to-be-streamed television series. Reese and Jennifer will reteam for the upcoming series ‘Morning Show’.
Justin holds a Hollywood record with films like ‘Maniac’ on Netflix, ‘The District’ and Disney Plus upcoming live-action of ‘Lady and the Tramp’.
