Sad news coming in from Ghanasoccernet.com confirms that ex- Black Stars striker, Junior Agogo is dead. The report indicates that Agogo passed on in London early this morning, after a long battle with stroke.
Before his demise, Agogo was a Black Stars sensation in the 2008 African Cup of Nations, where he charmed his colleague players and country members with his energetic field performance. The entire league hosted in Ghana that year received major headlines all centered around the late footballer.
Agogo, who scored over 100 goals throughout his football career span began the journey in 1997 with Owls, playing three games for the then Premier League team from 1997 to 2000. His goal scoring records holds a total of 45 for Bristol Rovers between 2003 and 2006 where he played 140 games for the club.
In his Black Stars stay, which is mostly remembered with the 2008 AFCON, Agogo played 27 games and scored 12 goals for the national team. He died at the age of forty.
