With one Emmy win to her credit with the HBO thriller ‘Game Change’, Julianne Moore is likely to score a second Emmy win with the upcoming Apple drama series ‘Lisey’s Story’. The Academy award winner will not only star as the lead character, but also executive produce alongside Stephen King, J. J. Abrams and Ben Stephenson.
‘Lisey’s Story’ is an eight-series adaptation from Stephen King’s 2006 horror-romance bestseller, which follows Lisey (to be played by Moore) two years after the death of her husband. The story explores a series of events that causes her to begin facing amazing realities about her husband that she had repressed and forgotten. All eight episodes written by Stephen King, the series will be produced by J. J. Abrams once again, and his Warner Bros. TV-based Bad Robot Productions.
No directors have been scripted for the series yet, but sources say, producers are on the hunt for some heavyweight directors for the series.
The success of ‘Lisey’s Story’ will add up to King’s growing small-screen efforts including, ‘The Mist’, ‘Under the Dome’, ‘Mr. Mercedes’ and more. The series will also be the latest collaboration between King and Abrams, who previously teamed up for Hulu limited series ‘11.22.63’ and the anthology ‘Castle Rock’.
Moore, who is repped by CAA, Management 360 and Edelstein Laird, will be making her debut on regular series shows with the ‘Lisey’s Story’. The actress stands as a five-time Oscar nominee and a one-time Oscar winner.
