On October 3, 2018, the iconic actress, Judi Dench will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Zurich International Film Festival.
The Academy award winning actress will also present her film, Red Joan, alongside her Golden Icon Award honoree. Undoubtedly one of the most acclaimed British actresses of all time onstage and onscreen, Dench won her Academy award in a supporting role for her performance as Queen Elizabeth I in Shakespeare’s In Love.
The 83-year-old actress has appeared seven times as M in James Bond films from Goldeneye in 1995 to Skyfall in 2012. She also has to her fame a record of eight Oliver Awards, Britain’s highest theatrical honor.
Speaking about Dench, Zurich Film Festival co-founders Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri described the actress as a true icon.” Judi is a true icon. She has enjoyed an extraordinary acting career across film, television and on stage. We are thrilled to welcome her to Zurich and to screen her latest film, Red Joan,” they both said in a statement.
Dench recently wrapped productions on Disney’s Artemis Fowl, directed by Kenneth Branagh, and will be seen in Andy Goddard’s upcoming period drama Six Minutes to Midnight alongside Jim Broadbent, Eddie Izzard and Carla Juri.
