Paramount Pictures is expanding the ‘Transformers’ franchise with Joby Harold and James Vanderbilt, contracted to write two separate scripts for the next installment of the American science fiction action series of films.
Both Harold and Vanderbilt are seasoned writers in Hollywood with a roster of works namely; ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’, ‘John Wick: Chapter 2’ and ‘John Wick: Chapter 3-Parabellum’ for Harold; ‘Murder Mystery’, ‘Amazing Spider Man’ movies and ‘Truth’ for Vanderbilt.
Over the years, the franchise has generated $4 billion worldwide with the series of ‘Transformers’ films produced under the franchise. The list includes; ‘Transformers’ (2007) ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ (2017), ‘Revenge of the Fallen’ (2009), ‘Dark of the Moon’ (2011) ‘Age of Extinction (2014) and ‘Bumbleblee’ (2018). The last installment is the least financially sourced film from the franchise, but generated great reviews from critics and at the same time grossed over $465 million at box office worldwide.
No directors have been attached to either script and it’s also likely that both projects will feature brand-new casts, Variety reports.
