Every year, prior to our ‘Ghana Women of the Year Honours’ a slew of Africa’s leading women gather under one roof to share their thoughts and experiences with young aspiring women leaders and executives, to help nurture their coming up in the real world.
The individual-led presentations and panel discussions ‘SHE SUMMIT’ has had a tall list of women speakers in past years, ranging from the world of politics, fashion, entertainment, entrepreneurship, media and the corporate world. The lineup of past speakers include, former EC boss Charlotte Osei, former minister for gender, children and social protection Naa Oye Lithur, media personality Berla Mundi, movie director/producer Shirley Frimpong Manso, Vimbai Mutinhiri and several others.
Adding up to our famous list of women speakers this year is our multiple Glitz Style awards nominee and cover girl Jackie Appiah. The delectable actress, together with Citi FM’s Dzifa Ametam and Chiedza Makonnen, will dissect into the topic ‘Living your purpose’, which is vent on encouraging our guests to have a feel on the benefits and life fulfilling advantages of living a purposeful life. Undoubtedly, since her debut in the world of film in the early years of 2000, the actress has won several accolades for her roles, surpassing the average number of award titles merited out to every living Ghanaian actor. Talk of her two AMAA winning titles, AMVCA, ZAFAA and her multiple Ghana Movie awards wins. The actress with the most beautiful smile of all is surely living a purposeful life.
On the other bench of the panel discussions, our first Glitz Style Awards best dressed celebrity on the red carpet winner/ lawyer by profession Sandra Ankobiah, will be on programme for the topic ‘Beyond Gender’ alongside media personalities, Dentaa Amoateng MBE and AJ Sarpong. In our current society, where gender equality has become a focal point of discussion, ‘Beyond Gender’ is expected to shape young ladies across board that anything can be achieved without being gender oriented. Sandra, who passes as a lawyer has become the preferred choice for most women in their selection of role models, since her profile covers all aspects in a dreamer’s diary. She serves as an executive director for The Women’s Institute, PRO for FIDA Ghana, co-founder, for SN Media Learning Tree and more. Her elegance and spirit in the world of fashion, will be left for another day, since it goes beyond a breakdown for discussion.
SHE SUMMIT 2019, comes off on Friday, April 12 at the Ecobank Head Office, Main Auditorium. The event will be hosted by Citi FM’s Apiorkor Seyram Ashong. Our Women of the Year Honours, will be staged the next evening, April 13, at the Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra-Ghana.
