French actress, Isabelle Huppert will receive the 2019 International Film Festival of India Lifetime Achievement Award. The ceremony will kick-start from November 20-28 at Goa.
Huppert’s Lifetime merit comes along with a cash prize of 1 million rupees ($14,285) and will also address a masterclass at the festival titled The Actor’s Connect. Over the years, since her debut appearance on screen and theater, Huppert has appeared in over 120 films, which has made her an award season contender, both in Hollywood and in her home country France.
She holds on record as the most nominated actress at the Cesar Awards, with 16 nominations from which she has bagged two in the years 1995 ‘La Ceremonie’ and 2016 ‘Elle’. Her captivating lead actress performance in ‘Elle’ fetched her a Golden Globe and an Independent Spirit Award win, alongside an Oscar nomination, all in 2016.
The 2019 IFFI is set to feature about 200 films from 76 different countries. It will for the first introduce a special selection headed by cinematographer and former president of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences John Bailey, to mark the festival’s 50 years of celebrating film.
