History of Women in Pantsuits on Red Carpets

In 1929 when the Academy Awards (Oscars) was launched introducing the thing called ‘Red Carpet’ women stuck  to their well flamboyantly designed gowns and never tempted to cross the borders of fashion rules. The pants was totally a man thing and as such gave them some authority as the leaders in the society in every aspect.

The stakes have turned and the story is different now. Not to say that society has put either men or women to rule the other, but the level has become equal. Men have a say and so do women.

From the time women made up their minds to stand for what they deserve and deem right in the society, the separation of this to wear and which career to embark on has been ruled out of the society. Women now tend to embrace their natural beauty and intelligence more by putting on what makes them look beautiful and doing what makes them feel productive in the society every day.

Wearing pantsuits on the red carpet forms part of the new era in the society. As to who wore it first thereby starting the trend, we may never know. But what we know for sure is its magical and elegance it puts women in when they wear it.  Lately, women who wear pants on the red carpet tend to win the votes of many as best dressed compared to the traditional gowns.

From the iconic Oscar winning actress, Angelina Jolie to the lady of Steel, Yvonne Nelson, here is a roundup of the best pantsuits worn by women on red carpets.
