The Recording Academy has released the list of artistes heading to the 2020 Grammy Awards as nominees. The list which features world acts such as Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and more have in the Best World Album category Burna Boy, for ‘African Giant’. He is up against Altin Gun, Bokante & Metropole Orkest, Nathalie Joachim with Spektral Quartet and the legendary Angelique Kidjo.
Lizzo leads the pack with 8 total nominations including nods in record of the year ‘Truth Hurts’, album of the year ‘Cuz I Love You (Deluxe)’, song of the year ‘Truth Hurts’ and best new artist. Ariana Grande, who snubbed her first Grammy performance last year, is up again this year with five nominations, including album of the year ‘Thank U, Next’. This is the first time Grande’s album is scoring a Grammy nomination.
H.E.R. is also in the race for another Grammy with five nominations, as well as Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X, both nominated in six different categories. The 2020 Grammy awards will air on January 26, 2020 with Alicia Keys hosting live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
