Golden Globes 2020: Complete list of nominees

The Hollywood Foreign Press has released the final lists of films and television shows going into the 2020 Golden Globes as nominees.

The list of films that made the final cut include; Netflix’s ‘The Marriage Story’, which accrued a total of six nominations, followed by ‘The Irishman’ and Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ with five nominations, while ‘Joker’ and ‘The Two Popes’ landed with four nominations apiece.

‘1917’, ‘Joker’, ‘The Marriage Story’, ‘The Irishman’ and ‘The Two Popes’ make up the contenders for best motion picture drama, whiles ‘Dolemite Is My Name’, ‘Jojo Rabbit’, ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’, ‘Knives Out’ and ‘Rocketman’ compete in the best motion picture musical or comedy category.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon launch themselves in the award season securing a best actress in a lead role for a television series drama with their collaborated executive produced series ‘The Morning Show’. They go against Olivia Colman ‘The Crown’, Nicole Kidman ‘Big Little Lies’ and Jodie Comer ‘Killing Eve’.

Meryl Streep returns on the score sheet, thanks to her ‘Big Little Lies’ season two appearance fetching her a best performance by an actress in a supporting role. Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Elton John, also scored single nominations in the category of best original song for a motion picture.

The 77th Golden Globes will go live on NBC from 8-11 p.m. ET and 5-8 p.m. PT, on January 5, 2020.
