Amid the increasing number of coronavirus cases being recorded, Global Citizen and World Health Organization have joined forces to bring some sort of musical relief to the world with a live-stream and televised concert celebrating community health care workers and support WHO’s global fight to end COVID-19.

To be curated by Lady Gaga, ‘The One World: Together at Home’ headline concert which will telecast live on NBC, ABC and CBS, will feature A-list of artistes such as, Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas, Lizzo, J Balvin, Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Alanis Morissette, Burna Boy, Andrea Bocelli, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, Elton John, John Legend, Kacey Musgraves, Keith Urban and Lang Lang.

Aside the musical performances attached to the concert, there will be experts coming through to educate and inform viewers on everything related to COVID-19, from how one can possibly get it, prevention and measures taken in place so far in fighting the pandemic. Stories of health care workers stationed at the front lines to help fight the virus will also be featured.

“We may have to be apart physically for a little while, but we can still come together virtually to enjoy great music. The One World: Together at Home concert represents a powerful show of solidarity against a common threat,” Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO’s general director disclosed.

By close of the concert, gathered income that comes in as pledges from supporters and corporate partners will benefit the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, powered by the U.N. Foundation to support and equip health
