Ghanaian painter, Lynette Boakye Yiadom has reason to laugh all the way to the bank.
A painting Lynette did in 2011, The Hours Behind You, was sold for $1,575,000 (including fees) at Sotheby’s. Sotheby’s is one of the world’s largest brokers of fine and decorative art, jewellery, real estate, and collectables.
“The Hours Behind You” is full of energy and emotion, depicting a group of women barefoot, wearing simple white shift dresses or cotton nightgowns, lost in a spirited dance.
