Mark your calendars, people! Game of Thrones final season returns to the screens, April 14, 2019, HBO has announced.
The eighth season, which is the last will feature six episodes, making it the season with the least episodes in all shown seasons. However, each episode of the finale could run for 90 minutes making up for the small episodes featured. The release date of season eight make the drama series eligible for a 2019 Emmy nomination after sweeping away nine Emmys in the last shown season, 7, including Outstanding drama series.
The drama series, which is an adaptation of George R.R. Martin’s bestselling book series, A Song of Ice and Fire, had its first airing date on April 7, 2011 and has since then become a favorite of many in the books of drama series. The last season brings back in the director’s seat veteran Throne helmer David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik as well as creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss.
According to THR, the finale will feature one episode that is wall-to-wall action, containing the biggest battle sequence in series history.
