For another year down the line, ‘Rhythms on da runway’ presented by Ghanaian fashion designer Kofi Okyere Darko, can boldly be referenced as a remarkable night flashed by the very best of fashion elements.
At the Christianborg (Osu) castle on Saturday, August 31, Rhythms on the Runway 2019, featured a handful of African designers showcasing great collections and accessories to mark the ongoing ‘Year of Return’ celebration. The night was no doubt one worth attending and one Instagram feeds throughout the evening.
For a review of the entire happenings that took place at the event, below is a breakdown in five categories that detail everything you should know about the just ended Rhythms on the runway fashion show.
The Show Hosts
Putting together a show of this magnitude, organizers played it safe by leaving the coordinating aspect of the stage magic in the hands of ace broadcasters and presenters Nathaniel Attoh and Nana Aba Anamoah. Aside their common reputation in the media space, both remained calm and collected in the fashion and style industry as their daily post undoubtedly merits a sit amidst fashion and style patrons.
The Guests
It’s almost as if every A-lister in the creative arts industry was a guest on the night. Every name that comes to mind when jotting a guest list for an event made it and just as predicted they made the show a colorful one with their appearances. From our editor-in-chief Claudia Lumor to renowned Ghanaian gospel music Tagoe sister, the guest list was and forever remain an enviable lineup.
The Performers
In as much as we like to tag it a fashion night only, the list of performances that mounted the stage to entertain audience stole part of the show’s attention in a positive and grand way. One-time BET Award winner Stonebwoy recorded one of his best performances ever, ‘African Woman’ hitmaker Becca also took the stage by storm with a catalog of her playlist that she brought unto the stage during the presentation of Velma Accessories.
The Red Carpet
Before taking a seat as a guest, a car park created concept was the preferred choice made ready for celebrities who flooded the event to use as backdrop for their picture time. From one celebrity to another, the car was more of their brought in ride for the night.
The Guest Models
Apart from the professionals booked to strut the long runway, celebrity guests that made their way at the backstage went through the traditional process of hair and makeup to get their facials ready to walk the designers’
outfits that showcased on the night. From ex-beauty queen Ruth Quashie, supermodel Gifty B, Radio presenter Jay Foley, Media mogul Akumaa Mama Zimbi to through to actress Marie Humbert, the event duly gathered the right faces to walk its runway.
