Farmhouse Productions, producers of the award-winning teen centered television series ‘YOLO’ has launched a 2 weeks masterclass programme aimed at teaching young individuals who desire a career path in filmmaking. Courses to be taught within the two-week period include techniques of script writing, film production, directing, acting and a body of other courses related to film.
Addressing audience gathered at the launch of the programme, Ivan Quashigah CEO of Farmhouse Productions, disclosed that the programme is a platform created to give young and upcoming film makers the opportunity to learn the basics of film and also meet the international standards required. He said,
“This is a mentoring programme that we have developed for young people who are interested in making their own films. We needed to create a platform for these young ones to learn some basics about filmmaking to help them meet the internationally accepted standards. This programme will help students find their feet in the industry.”
In view of the digital direction filmmaking has taken in the last few years, Ivan is hopeful that the masterclass will offer students the opportunity to interact with key players in the industry so as to guide their steps in the provision of accepted contents for both local and international streaming platforms. “The Film Masterclass would provide a networking platform where students can interact with the industry players who would train them on ways to generate content that suits the local and international market,” said Ivan.
Graduates from the Masterclass will be awarded with a certificate of participation and a chance to shoot short films based on their preferred story lines as well as attachment opportunities in various production houses.
